Network Specialist

IDEaS Computers of Worthington, MN is looking for a talented and motivated individual with a background in networking and server administration with at least 4 years of computer experience. Candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, be well-organized and have outstanding oral and written communications skills.

Job Duties Will Include:

  • Configure and maintain production and corporate networks
  • Assist with administering and maintaining network infrastructure
  • Perform and assist with network design, network capacity planning, monitoring, reconfigure, and tuning of network hardware
  • Configure and install new network equipment
  • Help maintain network hardware/software up to date
  • Maintain current network configurations back-ups
  • Work with NOC in monitoring network health
  • Participate in an on-call schedule
  • Participate in off-hours changes to address service outages and scheduled upgrades
  • Perform and document network operation processes and procedures
  • Good understanding of group policy management
  • Designs and plans SAN storage, business continuity and disaster recovery solutions for Windows systems and services
  • Troubleshoots SQL database problems and optimize performance where necessary
  • Troubleshoots Microsoft Exchange problems and optimize performance where necessary

Network Specialist Qualifications:

  • Packet capturing, tracing, and packet flow (optimization and analysis)
  • Experience troubleshooting the network layer
  • Experience with different network monitoring tools
  • Pro-active
