Information Specialist

IDEaS Computers of Worthington, MN is currently seeking a talented and motivated individual with strong knowledge of IT systems with at least 2 years of IT, business intelligence or project management experience. Candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, be well organized and have outstanding written and oral communications skills.

Job Duties Will Include:

  • Identify, manage, report and solve end user questions regarding functionality of GP/CRM and other company software. Must be present, visible and available to users requiring technical assistance.
  • Learn and understand fundamental operations of software used by the PHG group of companies.
  • Become familiar with available help resources to assist with trouble shooting problems.
  • Respond to client inquiries concerning systems operations and diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems in a timely manner.
  • Instruct users in use of equipment, software and manuals.
  • Provide updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users
  • Meet with end users to identify needs.
  • Interview user to collect information about problem and lead user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
  • Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to technical staff.
  • Logs and tracks calls and issues, and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
  • Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work.
  • Writes or revises user training manuals and procedures as necessary.
  • Trains users on software and hardware on-site or in classroom.
  • Work with internal team to enhance client communication.
  • Creates and executes timely project work plans with ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Monitor project budgets and be able to deliver within them
  • Ability to bring teams together to solve problems effectively
  • After hours maintenance and upgrades.
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and/or CRM beneficial
