Desktop Support Technician

Southwest Minnesota technology firm is currently seeking an entry level Desktop Support Technician to fulfill the following job responsibilities: in-house, on-site and remote hardware and software diagnostics, repairs and upgrades of desktops and laptops. Candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, be well organized and have outstanding written and oral communications skills.

Job Description

Support technician to troubleshoot hardware, network connectivity, software issues in a very diverse mixed environment.

Desktop Support technician will be responsible for tracking calls and resolving desktop and some network related problems, including:

  • Windows, Mac, Linux Operating Systems Office XP and Office 2003 productivity suite
  • VPN and MS Remote Desktop
  • Physical network related issues: cables and drops

Technician will be responsible for acknowledging, troubleshooting, resolving, and closing each ticket.

Technician will also be responsible for communicating all necessary information with both the customer and project manager.

Required Skills

  • Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS X experience required
  • Outlook, Exchange 2003
  • Office 2003 Productivity Suite, Office 2004 w/ Entourage experience for OS X
  • Great Plains and CRM experience a plus
  • Must have great communication skills.
  • Motivated, with positive team attitude

Required Experience

  • 1+ years experience
  • MS certification, MCP, MCSA, MCDST, MCSE A+/Net+ Linux+ a plus
